"If it's all true, then the devil must be an excellent talent scout"

I know we have exhausted this topic...

So Asanda and I are chatting casually over a breakfast of bananas and herbs about the conspiracy of occultic celebrities. "How do we join?" we joke nervously. We really cannot come to a conclusion on this topic though. Marketing gimmick or truth? I don't know really.

This site seems to know better about who has sold their soul, which production has sanatic symbolisms and such. I've been following it for a while (I've always gotten a kick out of freaking myself out) in search of some light. Along with a few documentaries (like Killuminati) I must say I pretty much remain in the dark. Can the talent scout devil be blatant in his actions or are we, as the general public, suppose to witness how 'cool',glamourous and rewarding evil can be? I mean Jayz is rolling, isn't he? Or are we just die hard sceptics refusing to see things as they are?

You decide for yourself. My paranoid self is succesfully paranoid about the whole thing.

Style vs Fashion

Style vs Fashion is an awesome concept by a lovely lady named Hlubi Mthimkhulu. I arrived a bit late but was able to catch most of the great clothes, the ambience and live music. It is held Kospotong in Newtown on the last Sunday of each month and the vibe is great for a chillout, a chat, sundowners, shopping and a boogy. I even bumped into Dini whom I had not seen in 4years! I'll let you know when the next one is going down.

Such hotness ladies...

Tumi (friend and neighbour) doing what she does best.

I really feel baby friendly gigs (geez aren't I getting old..) We should really have more of them and expose the young ones to the real ish..

Mongezi, the guy on the saxophone is totally mean! Way too sick!  And he is self-taught.. Mad love.

Lady Hlubi. She's such a bubble of joy and has amazing style. This picture is the least incriminating I could find of her!

More good music

It was great fun, I got rather tipsy though (shameful condsidering my late arrival). Cannot wait for the next one!

"Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing." ~Redd Foxx

I once had a really good  friend (that I miss so much) but whom I lost due to my opinions. Our friendship ended one day when I expressed my concerns about his lifestyle after watching him and two of his mates consume 3 bottles of expensive whisky, a couple of beers,2 packs of cigarettes topped up with enough steak, ribs and chicken wings to feed 4 families. All this done in one night with the physical activities in between being a game of pool and Grand Theft Auto.

The saddest part is that, knowing my dear 29 year old wealthy former friend, this is his regular lifestyle. I started to really think about the young people (with buying power) around me and realised that this is how we live. Most of us smoke, drink and eat way too much franchise food. We seem to be dying a slow unnecessary death at the hands of gluttony and over indulgence.
I am no exception even though I lie to myself at times and excuse my dodgey habits with "at least I don't eat meat" and "well I have gym membership" but come on now. It's just like the "double cheese burger and a diet coke" principle. The amount of toxic crap that goes in does not balance the amount of energy we invest in flushing all the junk out.

What really got my buddy ticked off (this is an understatement) is when I told him about the ill fated George IV. Probably the most gluttonous, useless, indolent and unhealthy of the English Monarchs. He had a big taste for Banquets, drink and women. Since he could afford to splurge as much as he wanted, towards the end of his life his obese self was plagued by gout, arteriosclerosis, dropsy and being ridiculed when appearing in public.

He died in 1830, from his bad habits.

  • Last December alone 10 million grown ups were patrons of a MacDonald's in December 2010 alone.
  • We currently have about 6.5 million diabetics in South Africa at the moment.
  • Over half of South Africans over the age of 15 are overweight, leading the pack being black women being the most obese in the country. (You know how we do..)
  • An approximate of 130 strokes and 240 heart attacks occur DAILY in South Africa.
  • South Africa has one of the highest levels of alcohol consumption per drinker in the world ranked amongst the UK and Ukraine.
  • Cerebrovascular diseases and diabetes are the fourth- and fifth-leading causes of death in South Africa.
  • 1.8 billion young people age between 10 to 24 smoke cigarettes (according to the World Health Organization.)
    * More than 85 percent of these young smokers live in developing countries.

SO..

You freaked out yet? No, we never are freaked out. "We all going to die one day" right?

That attitude is quite retarded, life unappreciative and selfish. Why do we spend all the money that is meant to go to our children's trust funds, legacies, feeding the less fortunate and turning ourselves (especially our race) around on killing ourselves? Contributing to the wasted energy that is killing our environment leaving nothing for our grandchildren? Just being fucking puppets to the brainwash of advertising and consumerism?

To my dear friend who saw my intentions as malicious in nature. Knock yourself out buddy.

I'm going to try my hand at "dying of nothing" actually. Share on Tumblr

First Vehicle Post.. and some random rantings of my own.

So I am apparently being moved to a new assignment by my agency. I'm kinda sad and relieved at the same time. My job was starting to make me feel a tad bit butch (the inability to doll myself up because it is retarded to when I work at night only with just one other dude, plus all these talks of clutches, tyres, engines and body types). At the same time I will miss my colleague and the 15 days off!! The freaking 15 days off!! The greatness of midday beer on a Monday while everyone else works.. sad sigh..

I don't necessarily like job hopping especially in industries that I totally do not relate to. I must say though that I learn something amazing with every experience. I have to do so until I complete my studies (will that day come already?!). Until then I have to bear with rigid corporate types and ever so dreadful routinely shit. The weird stares at my half shaved head and dismal failure in my attempts at corporate wear (to be honest the lack of attempt). I'm a total mind fuck you see. I hold the interview process down looking all 'mainland', I learn my shit, I do the job thoroughly and then I start coming through as myself and throw everyone off guard...Tee hee hee..

Anyways when I started working in the automobile industry I knew jack shit about vehicles! Nada! Okay I knew I wanted one.. And that they are shiny and nice.. That's about it.. I've spent a year sponging it all in and it's been great and fresh information. I find myself giving tips on the typa cars people should buy (based on the accessability of parts, fuel consumption,'green-ness' etc). Plus it's great bar ammunition that my boys always appreciate!

Heres some Random Bits about cars:

The most expensive:

Bugatti Veyron: It's also the second street legal fastest car in the world ( can do 0-60k in 2.6 seconds).
I have a son that I need to raise. Don't give me this car. I would endanger my own life with this machine.

Cost: R12,037,859.23 (1.700 000 in US dollars)..
Okay..
Bugatti Veyron: Most Expensive Car in The World

Most Retarded (in my opinion):

Centaurus 2: Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Or Spaceship that can do both land and water? Why does it exist? Okay so it runs on solar energy. It's ugly. The end.

Cost: I don't give a fuck. (I don't think it's available commercially though.)

The Greenest Car (well one of them. It's hard to say for sure since there's so many now).

Toyota Prius : if you drive 20 000km a year in a Prius you’ll save over one ton of CO2 emissions, which would otherwise need to be absorbed by a forest of 71 trees. Some celebrities took quite a liking to this car (Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep to mention some). Nondyebo Dzingwa winner of Miss Earth SA 2010 drives one (hell yeah she better be driving one otherwise she looks suspek..shit!).
I personally think it's aaight, major points for innovation and technology.

Cost: 378.100 ZAR

I will share some more about cars in the future. I wouldn't know how not to. Strangely, this industry will forever be embedded in me. I wonder what's next...

Rndom quickie...

A guy on some show on the discovery channel (think it was "Destroyed in Seconds") lifted a chopper with his bare hands which resulted in a life being saved. Now this was no Rambo-type-character. He was your over weight, greasy,  butt crack exposing McDonalds frequenting type, undeniably unfit. So how did he do it? I discovered that it was all the workings of a hormone called:
Noradrenaline -- which works with adrenaline to help the endocrine system produce the "fight or flight" response; in an emergency situation, it boosts the oxygen supply to the brain and the supply of glucose to the muscles.
So if you all-of-a-sudden are able to unleash a Jet-Li can of whup ass on some thugs trying to mug you, it's probably the workings of this incredible hormone.

(Such amazing detail the human body has.. There has to be a Greater Existence somewhere out there..) Share on Tumblr

Architecture (archi-toture as some architects would say..hahaha!)

Frank Gehry 2006 crop.jpg

I was introduced to Frank Ghery born Frank Owen Goldberg; February 28, 1929 by an ex who's an architect via the means of an awesome documentary called 'Sketches of Frank Ghery' by Sidney Pollack. I was like WOA!!!!! This guy will throw crumpled pieces of paper and analyse them from different angles and get sketching. His work is amazing! Under his belt is:

File:Guggenheim bilbao.JPG
 The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao

The Dancing House in Prague

File:Disney Concert Hall by Carol Highsmith edit2.jpg
The Disney Concert Hall amongst other genius creations. He pushes boundaries and is unorthodox in his approach to architecture (and still allows allows for his buildings to be habitable).
Another thing that really fascinated me about his work is his love for fish (I'm a mushy sentimental pisces). They appear in his buildings, sculptures, furniture and his jewelry line (I need to get rich real soon!)

Not everone is a fan though.. Critics have said:
His buildings waste resources, are oblivious to climate, do not blend well with their environments ( okay, The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao does look like a random spaceship to its sorrounding) etc..

I say he is totally awesome and a master in his own right. If only I could get one of them jewellry pieces man!!!

Dankie!

Procastination has finally been elimininated!

.I have been checking out everybody's blog for the longest time. It gets so creepy at times because I have been entirely content with being the invisible blog follower. I've always been there disagreeing with opinions, celebrating others' achievements, sharing sorrows, squirming at mediocrity, in awe of mastery and generally connecting with the minds and cultures of bloggers out there.

The main reason that I decided to start this blog is because I'm really information hungry. I have always been the annoying "why, what, how, when, who" kinda kid. This blog allows me the opportunity to source and share interesting shit with everyone and still get some personal benefit. I have no boundaries in my interests where information is concerned. From architecture to trips to the moon, theatre to brain surgeries, food to ancient linguistics, ANYTHING!!!

Please feel free to feed me, correct me where I am wrong, teach me and share your opinions..

I am so freaking stoked!!! Share on Tumblr
